WebbOur interests currently include the use of IR lasers for multiphoton dissociation (IRMPD) measurements of solvated ion clusters. The experimental set-up includes a modified Bruker FT-MS facility and Nd:YAG pumped OPO/OPA laser system that delivers tunable infrared radiation in the mid IR range. WebbAs the archetype of water hydrogen bonding, the water dimer has been studied extensively by both theory and experiment for nearly seven decades. In this article, we present a detailed chronological review of the experimental dimer studies and the insights into the complex nature of water and hydrogen bonding gained from them.
