But my lack of understanding leaves me a little confused. I am trying to get CDs to sound good at 44.1kH sampling. So the filter published here will correct the HF roll off. Webb10 feb. 2024 · Few days ago I realized, that Super Slow Roll-off filter or NOS I quess on my AKM4493EQ suits best to my listening requirements. I'd always had difficulties with strangely bright treble and this filter makes it right, neutral. Bonus is cleaner soundstage.

This is quite important, as most dacs default to a linear fast roll off filter for pcm, which doesn’t remove any ringing at all ! And he admitted he forgot about this quite important setting of his dac. He had been listening to pcm using a fast linear filter during the comparison.

If it’s a DAC digital filter control, just use linear phase unless you want to risk your music to have aliasing (or imaging).
