Webleave disk 1 well alone. remove the volume from disk 2. select disk 2 as a hot spare for the volume on disk 1. watch whilst the Synology recognises that there's a hot spare in the chassis and assigns it to be the mirror drive for the degraded volume and starts rebuilding the volume onto that disk as well.
